Orchard Lake

Orchard Lake

We have four lakes set in 14 acres of peaceful Northamptonshire countryside in the Midlands.  All lakes are man made and are clay based.  The Top, Middle and Bottom lakes were constructed in 1980 and the Orchard Lake was built in 1992. The site is compact, all lakes are within easy reach of the car park and facilities in the main shed.

This lake is the largest one at approximately 1½ acres and is generally regarded as the hardest lake to fish. Depth is up to 6 feet off the dam, shallowing out towards the natural slope on the upside.  The lake contains our largest carp, a 41lb Common.  It also holds two other thirties and several good twenties plus a good number of 10lb - 20lb maturing stock.
Access to this lake is up a short slope from the car park. There is plenty of flat bank for bivvies.

The Bottom Lake is about 1 acre.  The top weight in 2016 was a 35lb 11oz Half-Linear.  There are a good number of doubles and twenties plus some smaller growing on fish.
The depth is about 6 feet off the dam, shallowing out in the bay on the south side.
This lake is a short walk from the car park, down a gentle slope. Ample bankside suitable for bivvies.

The Middle Lake is also about 1 acre.  It is stocked with smaller carp in the 4lb to 15lb range.  You may also come across the odd Chub at around 2lb and some Tench. The deepest area is about 5 feet , off the overflow.
A short walk from the car park down a gentle slope.

This lake is approximately 1 acre.  The shallowest end is next to the car park, getting deeper towards the far end where it is approximately 4 feet. The Top Lake is heavily stocked with carp ranging from 5lb to 15lb and provides easier fishing.  The lake also holds a number of Tench.
There is very easy access from the car park, the nearest swim being only yards away, making this lake suitable for less mobile anglers.
